New! - Flight Sim Message Boards

JAN 28 2007 / IFC RADIO.INFO

Wee Tune Beestie v 0.99 has been released as freeware software.
Created by Haggis Flightware exclusively for IFC Radio, this is an applet that will allow all broadband connected users to connect to the IFC Radio stream by a simple right click of the mouse button or better still simply tuning 123.45 on the comm2 radio.

No more will you have to mess around with your media player mid flight in order to receive broadcast entertainment. With WTB running in the back ground it will detect when you tune to the active frequency of IFC Radio and start playing. If you need to stop the music at any time, simply detune the comm2 radio from the active frequency.

WTB is available in the download section of the IFC Radio website.

IFC Radio is going through major changes with the introduction of Live DJ's starting in March, in order to become a more varied and engaging community radio.

Just to let you know a little more about IFC Radio.

IFC Radio stands for Independent Flightsim Community Radio.

We are about entertainment and education. With music, FS News, FS Reviews, Interviews with developers, Virtual Airlines and Virtual Sky Systems such as HAWKFLYERS.

We are currently building up to having a number of live DJ's to go on air by the end of February beginning March.

Listeners will be able to tune and request music from the DJ's, get your name read out on air.
Register with the IFC Radio website and enjoy information, news, and our forums containing a lot of detail and that content will only expand. (Bit like my waistline after Christmas Wink )

Just to give you a teaser, IFC Radio is currently beta testing an applet that will allow pilots to tune in the comm2 radio in the cockpit to IFC Radio's own frequency, allowing pilots to enjoy the smooth sound of IFC Radio while flying without the necessity to switch screens or minimise the sim to activate your media player.

We are also running part 2 of the Microsoft/Aces Studio interview recorded in Birmingham, England in December at the IFC NEC Show.

IFC Radio is planning to be in Denver, Colorado this year in July, for the IFC Denver show, where visitors to the show will be able to pay for access to the United Airlines flight simulators.
All good stuff I am sure you will agree. Register now, then you can say you were there first.

FlightSim X is now available and I bought it. To sum it up, I'm sorry I did.

FlightSim X Multiplayer - The new "Client" add-on from chocolatesoftware.com provides the multiplayer features for FSX that Microsoft left out. It works great and it's free.

The Zone is now history.
FSHost servers can be found with a program called FSHostSpy from chocolatesoftware.com.
This program will show all active FSHost servers and who is flying on them and it's free.
This guy has done a great job so if you can't send him some money, at least send him a post card.

The TeamSpeak Server -

Many people have asked and some have even demanded to be given Server Administrator privilages. I'm sorry but nothing can be run properly by putting everyone in charge. If you want to be in charge then get your own.
I just don't understand why some people think it's their God given right to be able to have full control of someone else's server.
Can I have my own room? No. We did that before and people built empires and then didn't use their own rooms. If you need privacy then switch to a room that is not being used. Thank You
If you are wondering what all the smoke about TS hackers is about then here is an example.
Baron signed up with a commercial TeamSpeak service that claimed it was hacker proof.
The server was set up with rooms much like my TS server and one day, in a few seconds, the hackers converted it to what is shown below. There are about 100 rooms.
Even Baron as the Server Admin could not make changes to his own server and tried for weeks to get the INXGaming TS service provider to return control to him. They claimed that the settings had been changed by "Brute Force". Is this a new term for "Hacked"?
